a bit of an odd ball. born and reared in NYC--and lived here all my life. a great place to grow up-- too dam smart for my own good--but also dyslexic. (i still have trouble telling right from left!) artistic--not a dillitant, but not a professional anything. but i want art (which is really just a major expression of beauty) in my life, everyday.
i don't think/i am having trouble fitting myself--and interests --into the boxes. (i have built furnature (seating and bookcases)--but i don't consider it a hobby. I see it as just a normal skill. I suppose knitting could be a hobby too, but for me, its more. (i design knitwear and write patterns)
i am getting older(but who isn't?) but i see myself young at heart. I am straight--but i have many friends who are bi--and while i an mot turned on when they make a 'play' (and they have)--i am not upset either. i am not going to make the cliche claim "some of my best friends are gay" because well, i don't chose my friends by there sexual orientaion. and i don't fixate on sexual orientation. pleasure is fleeting enough. find it where you will.
i like to pretend i don't have any prejudices. (alas, i know i am only pretending) i fight my tendencey to stereotype and judge.
On Gather, I'm Looking For ...:
interesting intelectual companions.. the world is full of so many interesting people places and ideas.
I see gather as on-line mixer. where i can step into a group and get a chance to see the world from another perspective.
